As much as I love technology, social networking sites are not cutting it for me. There are too many things that I find interesting for me to tweet or facebook all day long. I hope you get something out of my posts. Actually I don't care if you like this or not.
This is for me.
Sorry to anyone who still reads this blog, or attempts to see if I've updated it. I've been pretty busy with work and haven't had time or was interested to blog. A lot of cool things are happening in the music circles I follow.
Things I noticed the past couple of days.
Diplo getting to endorse a blackberry. Points to both sides. But RIM... you guys are slacking. Android is taking over.
So Me made a video for Duck Sauce. Its essentially a well edited shout out to Fools Gold fam, sad to say I didn't see Catchdubs. His part must have been cut to insert a few seconds of Kanye. Who cares about Kanye? facepalm
I first heard of New Orleans Bounce from my friend Scott Serota aka Cunei4m. He introduced me to daggering, nola bounce and the jerk dance scenes. Scott is on point with his knowledge of music and dance culture. You should follow him @cunei4m and learn something.

I follow about 160 people on twitter. Some of those people I've met and some people are ones I'd like to meet. Out of all the people I follow, @diplo is the best. He has his twitter game on lock. The stuff he tweets is just ridiculous but he gives us enough truth to continue to read his tweets everyday. The whole Mad Decent team are fun to follow any way. Yet, Diplo just has a contagiously fun personality. Follow him and you will see what I mean.
Here is a short recap of the Black Eyed Peas. We have will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo from 1995 until now. They were first known as a hip hop group with Kim Hill singing on their tracks until 2000. They pick up Fergie in 2003 on Elephunk, and thats where we get the songs Where Is The Love, Shut Up, and Hey Mama (The first "silhouette" commercial for iPod).
Next came Monkey Business (2005), the album that brought us Don't Phunk with My Heart, Don't Lie, Pump It, and my favorite, My Humps.
Most recently in 2009 they released The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). If you have been in a coma this last year, this album was huge for them. It is a more electronic sound than before. I believe this is going to be the trend with most pop and hip hop going forward (ex. Lady Gaga etc.). The E.N.D. gave birth to Boom Boom Pow, Imma Be, and I Gotta Feeling (produced by David Guetta).
Following its release, will.i.am remarked that the album had been inspired by a trip to Australia, specifically the sound of The Presets' My People. "The energy on the Presets' small little stage was crazy energy. That song My People - that shit is wild," will.i.am said, "That's the reason why this record sounds the way it does - my three months in Australia."
The BEP are huge, they've had many #1 spots on US and international charts. They've won 6 Grammys and have been nominated 16 times in the past 6 years.
will.i.am has been doing a lot of electronic stuff as of recent. He is known as ZuperBlahq on Steve Aoki's I'm in the House.
Then I saw him at the Beats By Dre party at the Times Square Best Buy with Diplo and David Guetta. He is using the same Vestax VCI-300 that I use. You can watch the other videos from JOEDONUT to see the other performances that day...
Last night on Twitter I saw that the Mad Decent crew with Diplo rolled up to the Trouble and Bass party, No Escape from New York. 12th Planet was the guest DJ that night. Here are some of the tweets.

My prediction is that the next release from will.i.am or the BEP crew is going to have some HEAVY BASS! I am actually excited to hear Fergie over a deep wobble. I think it suits her.
I came across this little gem by our favorite neighborhood Diplo. It looks like someone over at Prada's advertising department likes fresh music. I heard of Private first on Mad Decent's blog back in January when Diplo gave us his remix. The song is catchy and Diplo's version is a totally different flip.
Private was formed in 2006 by Danish producer/singer Thomas Troelsen, along with guitarist Asger Tarpgaard and vocalist Tanja Simonsen. Sonically, PRIVATE's music is filled with infectious pop hooks and rhythms. Their debut album “My Secret Lover” was produced and recorded by Troelsen in Copenhagen and New York, and mixed in London by Jason Boshoff (Basement Jaxx, David Gray).
